Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon tries to find out what fans want to see next from NetherRealm Studios and has suggested the possibility of a Marvel vs DC Comics video game. For years, fans have been begging for a Marvel vs DC video game. They are the two biggest names in the superhero world and fans want to know what will happen if Iron Man encounters Batman or something like that. In the ’90s, Marvel and DC had a comic book crossover, which was a giant form of wish-fulfillment for superhero fans everywhere. With the rise of the MCU, fans also wanted to see different cinematic universes collide for one big crossover.
While it may be a while before the movies can make this happen, Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon seems to be playing around with the idea of this in a video game. On Twitter, Boon asked what fans want to see from NetherRealm next. Two of the more obvious choices were the new Mortal Kombat game, Injustice 3And, perhaps most interestingly, a Marvel or Marvel vs DC game. Of course, NetherRealm is owned by Warner Brothers and made use of different DC characters in both unfairness And the Mortal Kombat series, but never Marvel. Boon confirmed in 2019 that he had a chat with Marvel about a game and really wanted to do a Marvel vs DC game, but nothing has really come of it since then.

There’s probably a lot of logistics involved in legal rights, but…maybe if fans ask for it, it will. At the time of writing, the poll has nearly 39,000 votes and the Marvel vs DC option has won over 33% of the vote. Of course, Marvel has its own fighting games with Marvels vs. Capcom and Marvel Enemies: Rise of FlawsHowever, given how much Mortal Kombat and Injustice love, this will be a league of its own for a number of reasons.
